New page

A biometric pattern disk is a small device that is either surgically implanted, or temporarily applied under a layer of synthetic flesh, at the pad of the user’s Thumb. It can mimic the biometric pattern of another person after direct one-second contact with the pad of the target’s thumb. The device can store up to five patterns in direct memory, with the option to swap addition patterns on and off the device as needed; operatives often keep addition patterns in a PADD or intel tricorder.

The default pattern is usually the user’s own biometric pattern, but the active pattern can be easily switched with voice command or controlled from a linked PADD, tricorder, or other device.
