Michelangelo Waterhouse came into the universe with a shower of blood and pillow fluff, high above New York City's Central Park in a hotel penhouse suite on Christmas eve. He has remained on the top of the world ever since. His mother was a stow away on the USS Vindicator, slipping aboard when Noah Waterhouse's ship, The Pelican, was recovered from an unnamed planet in Klingon space. Due to a comedy of errors surrounding diplomatic and scientific status of the planet, Helsa was left to Rochelle Ivanova's care, and when she gave birth to Mikey, he was entrusted to Amelia's care.
If asked, Amelia will very firmly insist that he was named for the Renaissance artist, but anyone who knows her remotely well knows that he was named for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle who was named for the Renaissance artist. He is a small bright green fox with large ears and curly horns, and is very high spirited and affectionate. Amelia's trained him with commands in the Orion tongue, and he almost always wears an orange harness with small nunchuks hanging where tags might typically be found. He's been embedded with a small chip between his shoulder blades that uses the same technology as the tracking beacon in a Starfleet combadge, and contains his and Amelia's contact information should he ever get lost.
His favorite treat is dried cherries, and he loves walks in the wee hours of the morning when starship or city alike will most often be quiet and largely deserted.
