Nadiv Sharir was born in Israel, to a happy home which soon included twin younger sisters. His father was a Starfleet Officer, well decorated, and a proud man. He went to school, had a good childhood, was intelligent and caring, always fought for the little guy. He made friends easily, but always worked best alone. When he was old enough, he applied for the academy, and was accepted, making his parents proud as he always did.

He aced his classes, even made a good show at the Kobayashi Maru, keeping his head under the weight of the impossible decision. His first assignment was as a security officer aboard the USS Roger, there was an incident, in which he had to make a hard decision and came out on top. After a rigorous debrief, he was approached by intelligence. It was a career move he hadn’t imagined making, but he accepted and rose to the challenges it offered with enthusiasm.

Not long after, he met his wife she was, in fact, one of the internal investigations officers who debriefed him after his first mission. Arianna James, an Ensign then and the junior partner in the debriefing team. They got married just before his first solo field assignment, a successful mission that had him coming home to a heavily pregnant wife, and his daughter was born not long after. They named her Thamin, precious in Arabic, and soon he was once again back on assignment.

It would be a lie to say he didn’t live for the thrill of his work, the blood pumping hard in tense situations, fighting impossible odds. But he had something to live for, his family. He had a long and successful career that he always struggled a little with not being able to tell his wife about, but with her own job she understood better than most people would have. His last assignment though, saw odds that he had no chance of surviving.

Captured by Cardassians, and when they worked out who he was and all the secrets he must hold he was taken to the black vault. After fifteen days of intense torture, of refusing to give up the secrets that could endanger his wife and child, he was sentenced to death.
