Intelligence Tricorder

The Intelligence tricorder is a specialized tricorder that is configured specifically for Intelligence work. In addition to the functions of it’s more common issue cousin, it is also preconfigured with tie ins for various other intelligence tools (such as the biometric pattern disk, personal transporter, etc), encrypted storage space, secure access control featuring a highly effective data wipe in case of forced access, and a number of other specialized abilities.

With it’s detachable sensor, it can identify and track people by their unique biochemical signature at a range of up to 25 meters, as long as the trail is no more than several hours old, and can detect alterations to their biochemistry due to injury or drugs. The detachable sensor has an effective communication range with the main unit of up to ten meters.

The device is smaller than it’s more common Starfleet issue cousin, and can easily be disguised to look like something else such as a PADD, personal items, or even part of one’s clothing. The detachable sensor is compact enough it can be concealed in a large ring.
