Located in a small section of space that's just off the beaten path, and disputed territory between Alliance and Terran space, Waterhouse's Moon is the base of operation for Corey Waterhouse (mirror) (In the prime universe it is known as 1597-M and is currently uninhabited). It is a small hunk of rock with a thin atmosphere and light gravity, with a sizable complex built into it on the side that stays facing the class L planet during it's forty-two day orbit. Waterhouse managed to independently negotiate rights to it according to both the Alliance and Terran authorities, and does his best to just stay out of the way of both governments these days.

The base has a support staff of about fifty people at full capacity, and can play host to about a hundred more while staying self sustaining. In an emergency, it can accommodate three times that, but in cases longer than a month will require outside resources to do so. Waterhouse typically runs it with about a third to half staff, and is selective about who he allows to visit, usually keeping the number under twenty and only having larger numbers for short durations of a week or less. It consists of ten levels that are mostly built under the surface of the moon, and it has a complement of defensive capabilities including shields, phasers, photon torpedos, and a defensive satellite network surrounding the moon.

Sharing its orbit around the planet is a small platform that allows for guests arriving in larger vessels to be able to dock and put in for automated minor service while visiting. The transporter is designed to syncronize with the moon's defenses to allow for beam in by dropping the base shields for just long enough to complete the process. It is a fully automated process that requires either a pre-authorized code or the live authorization of base staff.

All levels have plants growing everywhere. In addition to providing a lush and appealing environment, they serve to supplement the technological atmospheric systems. There are also a number of areas that play host to various lifeforms that the staff are trained to prepare as food in supplement to the replicators also available. The areas that are intended to play host to his guests are finished with a number of fine materials including precious stones and metal, lush carpeting, and wall hangings. Holo-emitters are located throughout to allow him to project a number of amusements for his guests as well.

Facility Layout

Level One

Level One is located above the surface, and can be isolated from the rest of the complex via heavy duty blast doors which are fortified with ablative armor. This level is the primary access to landing pads and the surface, as well as recreation facilities such as the main dining and entertainment hall, an arboretum with a number of exotic plants, and various smaller meeting rooms. This whole level is "open" to the outside in that all outside facing walls and ceilings are made of double pane transparent aluminum.

The transporter pad is located in the center of this level, surrounded by a lobby area that serves as the welcoming point for any visitors. Airlocks to the surface are located at four points equal distant around the perimeter with hallways directly to the center lobby, allowing entrance from the landing pad areas for those who choose not to beam in from their vessel.

Level Two

Under the landing pads are service and storage space, accessible via service lifts. In the area directly under the enclosed areas of the first level is a cricket field surrounded with spectator areas, and interspersed with a number of plants native to England on Earth. Exhibition cricket games are a common means of entertainment when Corey chooses to entertain closer to full capacity.

Level Three

The secondary dining and entertainment hall is located in this level, along with a theater for stage plays, musicals, and can be converted to show old earth style movies. A number of the larger edible flora and fauna areas are located on this level as well, with pathways and seating available for guests to spend their time. These are popular for more private conversation, and as such also is home to a number of surveillance devices.

The main kitchen is located in this level, and has dedicated lifts to the first level dining hall, as well as to the storage areas under the landing pads.

Level Four

This is the first level of guest suits for the most important guests. Each suite ranges from two to five bedrooms connected to a shared living space, allowing visitors to bring their family and staff along with them and live comfortably in a somewhat private space.

Level Five

This level has smaller guest rooms in a range of sizes and a communal space in the center that all rooms have shared use of.

Level Six

This floor is dedicated exclusively to Corey's living space. Within he has his generously sized bedroom, a spa room, a library and office, and rooms for his closest and most trusted staff, among which are his doctor, his concubines, and his personal attendant.

Level Seven

This level is living space for the staff. Though Corey is cut throat, he also provides generously for those who have served him loyally over the years. Some of the rooms on this level are comparable in size to the guest suits on level four, and there are a few multi-generation families located here.

Level Eight

This level is primarily storage and has some overflow for additional staff when the base is operating closer to full capacity. There is also a well maintained medical bay with surgery suite, as well as a series of rooms with multiple holding cells each.

Level Nine

The key systems for the base are located in this floor — computer core, power, environmentals, waste reclamation, etc.

Level Ten

Overflow for weapons, and access to a tube for escape pods enough for the base staff are located in this level. The tube is secured from the inside and not intended for access from the outside. It should not be detectable from the outside due to camouflage.
