Photon Traditions
From LCARS
(To be expanded and cleaned up later)
Meta: This will eventually represent an in-universe repository created and maintained by Tory (and later Remy), initially as a joke, of "traditional Photon practices". These are 'traditional' largely in a similar sense to Pastafarianism's appropriation of Hollywood-style pirate imagery.
Relevant sources:
- Ancient Hebrew "Golem" stories
* Aleph (א), holy emblem, giver of life and truth
- TRON
* TRON Lines are considered a traditional aesthetic, somewhat comparable to the lots-of-white-with-gold-trim aesthetics of many churches/religious vestments
- The Matrix
* The sunglasses. Any of them, but the symbolism varies depending on which set you choose. * The "raining code" effect is another traditional aesthetic, perhaps comparable to stained glass religious imagery.
- Asimov's The Last Question
* The phrase "INSUFFICIENT DATA FOR MEANINGFUL ANSWER" in particular
- Doctor Who
* Cybermen and Daleks are explicitly excluded/vilified because they represent fleshbags attempting to take on perceived qualities of synthetics and becoming the worst of both worlds
- Hackers
- Top Gun
