The Lighthouse Pub

From LCARS

The Lighthouse Pub was founded in 2297 by Oliver Locke, an English expatriate who'd moved to San Francisco when his husband had entered Starfleet Academy. It is styled after the pubs of London and the United Kingdom, and he ran it successfully for five years. When his husband received a posting on a ship that allowed family, he passed ownership to a young woman who'd been his employee since the beginning, Kathleen Sweeney. It has stayed in her family since then. She ran it personally until 2358 when she passed it onto her grandson, Warren Ashcroft, though she still worked for another ten years to help him settle in. In 2401, Warren elected to retire, passing it onto his niece, Julianne Rados.

Located only a couple blocks from Starfleet Academy's headquarters, it takes up half of the lower level of one of the historic buildings that have apartments in the stories above. The distinct stain glass windows featuring a blue and white lighthouse run the length of the two walls along the surrounding sidewalks. Inside wood paneling covers the walls, tables and booths of solid wood dented and stained from years of use, and a large bar runs the length of one wall. Lamps hang low above the tables, booths, and bar, and the pub games such as darts and skittles occupy a wall near the bar.

On tap are ales and beers from local breweries, as well as a number of UK favorites. They also can replicate many traditional pub foods, and make fresh a couple of favorites. They're best known for their rosemary and Parmesan chips (Americans would call them French fries).
